Asuransi Central Asia Posts 25% Higher Premium Income

PT Asuransi Central Asia, a large-scale insurance company, recorded premium income of Rp 466 billion (US$ 54 million) in the first quarter of 2011, rising 25 percent year-on-year (YOY). Goenawan Hadidjojo, President Director of Asuransi Central Asia, said the rising premium income is boosted by the company’s expansion to intensify its marketing activities.

This year, the company continues to expand its marketing network thru partnerships with modern retail companies, electronic media, and PT Pos Indonesia. Goenawan, however, did not get into details. Other than the company’s primary distribution channel, the marketing efforts will be supported by agents, brokers, and direct marketing.

Asuransi Central Asia targets to achieve Rp 2 trillion in premium income by the end of 2011, or 37.08 percent higher than previous year's Rp 1.46 trillion. In order to raise its premium income, the company plans to launch several new insurance products such as ship’s hull and shipping insurance as well as general, electronic goods, and dengue fever insurance
